  I went in to buy a Renault and left with two!

  I visited Hardings after a very poor experience at a well-known large car supermarket. I re-discovered them after 20 years, via a Google search, after losing contact after their move from Bovingdon, where I had previously purchased a Renault Laguna. Sales Manager, James, was on leave when I first visited. However, his colleagues were extremely friendly and helpful and allowed me to look over three Clios. Having identified two which were potential buys, I returned with my wife the following week and we were greeted by James, who gave us a full rundown of both cars. We test drove the car we wanted to purchase, and again were fully briefed on what would be done to check over the car before the sale. James was also brilliant in offering me a good trade in value for my Megane, and then went the extra mile to find the exact model of Captur I was interested in buying. A week later we replaced my wife's Clio and traded in the Megane for the Captur for me. We are very pleased with both cars. An outstanding service from a friendly local garage: what more could we ask for? Many thanks to James and the service team for a professional and honest appraisal and delivery.

  Highly Recommend

  James spent a long time showing my partner and his friend around the car. Despite this when I saw it later on that day I felt no pressure to buy it. When I arrived to pick it up it had been valeted inside and out and was gleaming outside & spotless inside. Highly recommend James and his team, especially the cat

  Great Service, would highly recommend.

  Really good, salesman was really helpful. We had spotted the car on Auto Trader site, and went along just to view. Once we had the test drive and looked the car over, we knew it was the right car for our needs. Hardings also took our old car off our hands and did all the paperwork for us. Making it really easy.

  Well worth a 50 mile round trip to view their stock.

  Very friendly and welcoming. Let me take my time deciding which car would suit me best and let me (and my family) look at several different cars without putting on any pressure to buy there and then. We were there for a couple of hours and had a chance to look around their stock. Once I had made my choice we then had lunch at their on-site cafe while they did a final PDI (pre delivery inspection) on the one I chose. I decided on the 50 mile round trip to visit them as they have an excellent reputation as a Renault dealer - had already decided which model I wanted and had looked at some for sale by general used car dealers but knowing that Hardings had the specialist knowledge on this make gave me the confidence that my trip would not be wasted.

  Trustworthy, straight talking salesman

  James was upfront, honest and very quick to respond to my queries (even on a Sunday when he was not meant to be working). At no point did I feel like James was playing games with me or putting pressure on me to buy the car. There are a couple of issues (missing parcel shelf - only noticed once we got car home- and one of the keys is showing low battery despite James changing it in front of me when collecting the car), but James instantly invited me to return to rectify these issues. Highly recommend!!! Thank you

At the point of collection, the customer confirmed they were satisfied with the vehicle, which was purchased for use as a driving school car. The only matter raised after purchase was a squeaky auxiliary belt. This had been replaced prior to collection, and we invited the customer to return should any further inspection be required. However, the vehicle was never brought back to us as arranged, and we have not received any further communication from the customer since â?? this was over one month ago. We have made several attempts to contact the customer in order to discuss and resolve any concerns, but unfortunately these attempts have been unsuccessful. As the vehicle has not been presented to us, we have not been given a reasonable opportunity to inspect it or assess the concern further. We remain fully willing to review the vehicle and address any genuine issues once the customer makes contact and allows us the opportunity to inspect the vehicle.

  From viewing to buying and for 6 months warranty running out I've been extremely pleased with my experience with Hardings. I waited deliberately for my warranty to run out before writing this review due to me thinking i wanted to see if I had any trouble what experience would I receive from them. A few months ago I had seen my coolant fluid dropping down quick and noticed a small puddle under my car each morning. Having got in touch with Harding's they booked me a time slot the next week. After their investigation they found out it was a small crack in the coolant bottle which wasnt covered by the warranty but they completed all work and parts free which was above and beyond any expectations I had. Now my 6 months warranty has run out I felt it was time to post a review and from my experience I would definitely recommend and buy from again. Top car sales and repairs.

  A quality, professional dealer

  James provided a quality, professional service. I paid a deposit and flew down from Scotland to Hemel Hempstead to collect the car. Due to the flight delay he waited on till early evening to allow me time to review and collect the car. I asked for the automatic gearbox oil to be changed before I collected, and this was done for a very reasonable charge. Overall a very good experience, and almost five months later I have had no problems whatsoever with the car. Highly recommended. Jim Speirs

  Friendly engaged staff and accurately described car

  Overall the service offered by Hardings was very good. The salesperson, James, was friendly and knowledgeable. The car was made available immediately for a test drive and I was allowed to go out on my own for as long as I needed too. The price asked for was fair in the current market and ready for collection on the day agreed. The car was prepared very nicely. I have to say that I bought from Hardings because the car was as advertised and because James the salesperson stressed Hardings commitment to customer care and sounded genuine himself. I have given 4 stars because so far I have only experienced the buying of a Hardings car and without direct customer care experience if I have problem ( no that I anticipate one) I canâ??t really give a maximum score. However i do feel that based on my experience so far that would not be disappointed. Overall so far so good.

  Kanes is great at what he does!

  James is very honest very professional and goes the extra mile to get you what you want and what you need. Just purchased my 4th vehicle from him and couldn't ask for more from James. Excellent service from start to finish and excellent after sales. I suppose the best thing I can say is that I trust James to deliver and to be honest. I wouldn't buy a used Renault anywhere else.   As an older female in her 60's i was very anxious of going into a show room. They were all lovely staff!!! James was the salesman, welcoming and very clear about the process step by step. The mot was due in a few months so they gave me a complete new one, the advisory was a couple of new tyres which they replaced those for me. My warranty (6months) runs out in November but have had no problems with the car so far. A month after buying the car I had an accident by reversing and smashing my boot window with a car park barrier, they helped me out immediately with plastic sheeting etc until Autoglass could come out, so the aftercare that the staff showed was amazing. Defo recommend this garage 100%

  Great Service and Support

  I am very Pleased at the service I recieved from James the sales person at Hardenings. After two weeks of purchasing the car I realised there was a fault and had to contact the service team ( Alex) and he was also very helpful. I was reassured as I was not happy about a fault developing within the first two weeks of purchase. But the team was great and fixing the fault and also calming my anxiety and emphasised they will will always be here to assist should I need them. So far the car is up and running with no further issues yet.

  After being messed about from a previous garage and refused to buy the car I went to this garage. James the car salesman and other team members were extremely helpful and not pushy at all. From start to finish the journey was excellent and my car is so cute to drive. The after sales are brilliant as had a couple of minor issues with setting up bloothouth radio and heater and they did it the next day for me. Defo would get my next car there and would highly recommend to family and feiends

  1st car Purchase

  The initial experience was great , friendly Sales Manager who showed us the car . Upon test drive Tyre warning was on this was advised when the test was finished , We also highlighted mould present in the vehicle on seats , seat belts , sun visors which we were advised was normal when cars had sat around for a while. As it was only minor and a good clean should sort it out . I requested for the car to be cleaned and then upon another inspection if remedied would consider the purchase. Upon the revisit it was acceptable so continued with the purchase which included having rear parking sensors fitted .Collected car as agreed after all the work was done, further valet , rear parking sensors fitted , flat tyre looked at . Very happy so far until. 1 .tyre pressure warning light back on after two days , trip back to dealer . New TPMS fitted free of charge .Another day later tyre pressure light on again trip back to dealer at this time we also noticed that the vehicle hadnâ??t been serviced when due by the dealer but was sold with full service history , pointed this out to them and they agreed to service it as-well as look at the tyre again .Few days later returned to collect the car Tyre issue resolved, and car serviced and book stamped . Although we had these issues they have been very good at acknowledging and resolving to our satisfaction . Would recommend as experience of buying a first car is very daunting and they made it a pleasurable experience including the after sales service .

  A salesman that wanted you to be happy with your next purchase.

  I searched auto trader for several weeks, to find out what vehicles were around and the expected prices. After 3 weeks I found what I was looking for but Hardings was almost 100 miles away. I spoke to James, a true salesman, he was helpful and knowledgeable, so rare these days. We worked out when we could travel down, the was car was serviced and valeted and waiting. For the age of the car it was fantastic and after a test drive, the money changed hands. Nothing was too much trouble, he wanted us to be happy with the vehicle. A great experience and the wife agrees with me for once.

  Excellent Service

  I had an accident that wrote off my car. I have mostly driven Renaults. I looked at Hardings website and saw they had several Clioâ?? cars for sale. I phoned Hardings and discussed the cars available. I had spoken about my need to get a car asap. When asked how I was going to get to Hardings I replied that I would get a cab. That was when the sales manager said he would come and pick me up. This was over and above service. I was picked up in the car I was interested and drive it part way back to the garage. Once driven I looked no further, that was my car. I can highly recommend Hardings.

  Fantastic service and very trustworthy

  Amazing service. The dealer (James) didn't try to "hard sell" anything. He really took my requirements into account before making suggestions in a warm and friendly way. He also text me throughout the process. When I had purchased, he took time to go through every document and make sure I was fully comfortable before driving away. Really impressed. I will be going back for servicing etc. because I feel that there is great trust between us.

  So far, so good, a very happy customer!

  We were met by Mark, he was very easy-going, and didn't make me feel silly asking 'girl' questions or for not having the most logical reasons for deciding for or against the cars he showed me. If I didn't understand something he said relating to each car he seemed happy to explain in more detail. I found a couple of very tiny faults when I picked up my chosen car and he has completely reassured me that he will get them sorted when I book it in. I felt no pressure to buy, even after taking up a lot of his time. So far, a very happy customer!

  Hardings let me down badly with aftercare

  Hardings let me down badly with aftercare. Once the car was paid for James the sales guy became difficult to deal with.. The pre sales check that I paid for resulted in front brake pads (not discs) and battery being fitted, and I was promised that all the brakes were in good condition. 9 months later the car failed the MOT needing 800 GBP brake repairs. When I eventually got James to discuss this we did have a conversation. But then he messahed to tell me our business was terminated - because Iâ??d given him a bad review for poor aftercare. I had already been waiting 2 weeks for Hardings to book me in to service the vehicle. Previously James hounded me with the promise of good aftercare if I gave him a good review, which at the point of sale I initially did - I even filmed a YouTube video to complement the sales process, expecting to be given good service going forward. But the truth is that since I drove off their forecourt the service has been abysmal.. These are the last words received in a WhatsApp message from James *Personal information removed by Feefo* â??You're of course free to do whatever you like with your car moving forward, wherever you choose. As far as I'm concerned, our business is now concluded.â?� If this is the sort of relationship you want with a dealer then buy from Hardings. But don't expect them to be of any use once they have your money

While we donâ??t usually go into such detail when replying to reviews, in this case, we feel itâ??s important to clarify several inaccuracies and provide the full picture. The customer did purchase a vehicle from us and was initially very pleased with the experienceâ??even creating a YouTube video praising how smooth and positive the transaction had been. Since then, weâ??ve answered multiple questions and offered ongoing support, so itâ??s disappointing to see this sudden change in tone. The vehicle underwent a full pre-sales inspection at no additional cost to the customer. As part of this, we replaced the front brake pads, brake fluid, and the battery. Approximately nine months later, the vehicle failed its MOT due to the following: Nearside headlamp not working on dipped beam Offside rear service brake excessively binding By that point, the vehicle had covered 13,628 miles since purchase. Itâ??s also worth noting that the MOT and routine service were both overdue by six weeks. Since then, the customer has edited their Auto Trader review five times, each time becoming more negative and increasingly inaccurate. While we welcome fair and constructive feedback, this appears to be more about provoking a reaction than raising valid concerns. Regarding our review process: we send a few Auto Trader review invitations over the course of several months, followed by a single confirmation text. We do notâ??nor have we everâ??pressured, hounded, or incentivised anyone for reviews. Any suggestion otherwise is simply untrue. We remain committed to transparency, fairness, and excellent customer service. Unfortunately, this situation appears to involve a misuse of the review system. It is both unfair and misleading to imply wrongdoing on our part when the issues raised relate to routine wear and tearâ??alongside a missed service and MOT. We take great pride in running our business with honesty and integrity. It is neither fair nor reasonable to attempt to damage our reputation on a trusted public platform in order to deflect from oneâ??s own responsibilities.
